COVID-19 Safety

Due to the current ongoing situation, we will be taking further steps, in addition to what we’ve already undertaken and shared with you, to ensure the health and safety of YOU, our front office team, and clients. Please see the new measures listed below, and if you have any questions about the information provided, email HR@RMCEvents.com

  • Effective March 17, 2020 our Richmond offices at 8247 and 8249 Meadowbridge Rd and our Charlottesville office at 943 Glenwood Station Ln are being placed under PHYSICAL VISITOR RESTRICTION status, effectively restricting ALL visits to an essential basis ONLY.  Many of our front office team members will be working remotely, with some still utilizing the office, albeit in this “closed” state.  Again, these offices will be CLOSED to in-person visits until future notice.  We encourage all staff to utilize phone, email, and/or text for all communications with our front office for both your health and safety as well as the members within our office.
  • In-person check distribution is being halted effective IMMEDIATELY. All checks will be mailed unless the staff member has set up Direct Deposit. If you would like to set up Direct Deposit, or if you have a question about your check or any other payroll-related issue, please contact Payroll@RMCEvents.com
  • Finally, and MOST importantly, we wish to give YOU a direct line to us for your questions and/or concerns.  We’ve established a process for a “digital hotline” dedicated to our RMC Family ONLY whereby we’re prepared to accept, route, and answer ANY and ALL questions you may have during this time of uncertainty.  Our goal is to be fully open and communicative with you while we navigate these times together.
    • Please direct any and all questions/comments to:    HR@RMCEvents.com
    • We will be certain the correct person receives and answers your request.

Please note that with regard to ANY and ALL client work site and/or event changes/cancellations, our team will continue to reach out directly to the affected staff & provide necessary information.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we move forward.

What is A Coronavirus?
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person. Symptoms of coronaviruses are frequently similar to those of a cold or flu.

How is The Virus Transmitted?
Human coronaviruses most commonly spread from an infected person to others through:
  • The air by coughing and sneezing
  • Close personal contact, such as touching, kissing or shaking hands
  • Touching an object or surface with the virus on it, then touching your mouth, nose, or eyes before washing your hands
Recognize The Symptoms!
Patients with confirmed COVID-19 infection have reportedly had mild to severe respiratory illness. Some symptoms can be confused with those of a common cold, allergies, or seasonal flu, so be sure to check out this video outlining the differences.

If you develop these symptoms or have been in close contact with a person known to have COVID-19, call your healthcare provider!

HOW TO LIMIT THE SPREAD OF GERMS AND PREVENT INFECTION

  • There are common sense steps we can all take to prevent the spread of any respiratory virus:
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing and throw the tissue away after use. If a tissue isn’t available, cough or sneeze into your elbow, not your hands.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
  • Practice other good health habits. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids and eat nutritious food.
  • Disinfect doorknobs, switches, handles, computers, telephones, bedside tables, bathroom sinks, toilets, counters, toys and other surfaces that are commonly touched around the home or workplace.

GET YOUR HOUSEHOLD READY

There are things you can do right now to be ready for any emergency, and many of these same tips will help you prepare as the coronavirus situation continues to evolve in the U.S.
  • Have a supply of food staples and household supplies like laundry detergent and bathroom items, and diapers if you have small children.
  • Check to make sure you have at least a 30-day supply of your prescription medications, and have other health supplies on hand, including pain relievers, stomach remedies, cough and cold medicines, fluids with electrolytes and vitamins.
  • Know how your local public health agency will share information in your community and stay informed. Find more information here.
  • Learn how your children’s school or daycare, and your workplace will handle a possible outbreak. Create a plan in the event of any closings, event cancellations or postponements.
  • If you care for older adults or children, plan and prepare for caring for them, should they or you become sick.
  • Help family members and neighbors get prepared and share the safety messaging with those who may not have access to it.

According to the CDC, patients with COVID-19 have reportedly had mild to severe respiratory illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure. Call your healthcare professional if you develop symptoms and have been in close contact with a person known to have the disease or if you have recently traveled from an area with widespread or ongoing community spread of the disease.
