Below are the instructions for joining a class via Zoom. We recommend familiarizing yourself with this info and either visiting the Zoom website or downloading the free ZOOM Cloud "Meetings" smartphone app prior to the class.
Prior to class you will receive an email invite with a Meeting ID number, as well as a Password. You will use those in the steps listed below.
OPTION 1 – Joining The Class From A Desktop or Laptop
(*FOR THIS OPTION YOUR COMPUTER OR LAPTOP MUST HAVE BOTH MICROPHONE AND VIDEO CAPABILITY*)
Step 1: Go to https://Zoom.us Step 2: On the right top corner of the page click on “Join A Meeting"
Step 3: Enter the Meeting ID found in the email received the day of class.
Step 4: If required to enter a password, enter the password given in the email received the day of class.
Step 5: It will walk you through the rest to join the meeting. We recommend joining 15 minutes prior to class, to give you a few minutes to get the system figured out.
Step 6: After joining the call, make sure your microphone is MUTED by clicking the Mute button (the small microphone symbol) on your screen. Only un-mute your microphone if you are ready to speak, and please mute it again after speaking. This helps us ensure people are not speaking over each other, or the instructor.
OPTION 2 – Joining The Class From Your Smartphone or Mobile Device
Step 1: Go to the App store on your mobile device (Apple store for iPhone or iPad, Google Play store for Android).
Step 2: Search for and download the free “Zoom Cloud Meetings” app.
Step 3: Once downloaded, open the app and enter the Meeting ID and password listed above. Make sure that when you open the app, click “allow access” to microphone, camera, and notifications when prompted. When asked, tap "Join With Video".
Step 4: After joining the call, tap "Join Audio" in the bottom left. Then tap "Call using Internet Audio".
Step 5: After joining the call, make sure your microphone is MUTED by clicking the Mute button (the small microphone symbol) in the bottom left. Only un-mute your microphone if you are ready to speak, and please mute it again after speaking. This helps us ensure people are not speaking over each other, or the instructor.
